Question: Originally DD stimulus, but account is closed, waiting on check, need help with irs website!!?
Okay, the last two digits (if they even matter) of the s.s. # are 07, and the irs website said (along with the letter rec’d 5/03) that our stimulus would be dd by 5/02, and to contact them if it had not cleared by 5/07. Our bank account has been closed for a few months, and yes, I’ve checked with the bank to make sure the stimulus didn’t slip through-it didn’t. Husband contacted the IRS 5/07, and they said it should be converted to a check, and mailed within a week of the bank rejecting the deposit. Up until yesterday, the irs website was still saying the info about the dd, and now I can’t get any info, using either my or my husband’s info! Does this (hopefully) mean that they’re getting it ready to be mailed soon? Thanks in advance for answers!
Answer: It could be! Maybe they are re-processing it right now and took down the old info from the status page. Check back on Monday because that is when they updated the rebate status for us….and we got a deposit this Friday. But, since there was an “error” with getting your rebate into your account and they had to redo it and convert it into a paper check, there is a chance they might not update the rebate status page with the new info but just send the check as soon as they convert it. Kind of like filing an amended form….you can’t get your new refund results off the original refund status page! Just my theory but I may be wrong! Check first thing Monday morning and see if anything changes….if not you could call the IRS and ask if they have processed the converted check yet too!
