Question: I sent my amended tax return to a different location of IRS.?
I used Turbotax software to amend the return.

Fresno, CA 93888The address above was the one that Turbotax instructed me to send it to, but I sent it to the other location of IRS by mistake. It has been 9 weeks since it was sent, and no mail or repond from IRS. Do you think they have redirected the mail to the correct location and have been processing it now?
Answer: They should have directed it in the right direction…but it certainly would slow down the process. You already filed it during their busiest time as it was (not that there is anything wrong with that).
The IRS says that it “often takes 2 to 3 months to process Form 1040X.” So you’ll be on the high side of that, or a little longer.
