Question: How can I get copies of IRS form 990 for charities in New York city?
I am interested in obtaining Form 990 filed by the American Society for Psychical Research, which is an exempt organization under 501(c(3)of the Internal Revenue Code.
I need a copy of the form actually filed in 2005 by the Society. Such forms are “open for public inspection”
Answer: Okay, I’ve revised this answer to include a link for the form from the IRS that you can use to request a copy of the actual Form 990 filed by the American Society for Phychial Research. You can find a copy of Form 4506-A Request for Public Inspection or Copy of Exempt or Political Organization here: http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f4506a.pdf

HAVELOCK — Filing income tax returns can be complicated enough, between knowing what is deductible and what isn’t. But what seems to trip up most taxpayers is simple math.
