Question: my son made around 7,000.00 on a Federal Gov. construction job part time?

construction. SOmeone pocketed about 23,000.oo over that and used his SS#. this was 2006. IRS just sent this notice saying he made 23,000 more than he filed. (3 nites) a week or less for three months work. HELLO? Should he just pay them?
How can we report the fraud and to What Gov. entity to have the construction company investigated for this huge ripoff on a kid.? that is like 30,000.00 the co. is claiming to have paid in a three month period. The feds kept dragging up illegals to work with them….on a judges new digs at a Federal Courthouse!!!
not immigrants fault. pointing out the crooked government end of it, thats all.
feds in cahoots with this co. they contracted? just wondering out loud.

Answer: Most likely, someone got a hold of your son’s SSN and used it to work at a completely different company. It probably has nothing to do with the construction company he worked for. If it was that company, the full 30,000 would have been on your son’s W2.

This is the typical M.O. for illegal aliens. Just report it to the IRS. They are the only ones with access to find out which company paid the additional 23K under your son’s social security number.

Is it on his W2?
