Question: Where to get correct IRS number ?
Im in California and forgot to file my income tax for last year ( 2008 ) and I have lost the form, I want to get a copy of that and hope i can get that in time to file this and last years together. Anyone know what phone number i should call ? and is there a fee for requesting another tax form ?
I googled but there are so many numbers….
Thank you all for your response. Now i go on the website but I dont know what form it is exactly that I need to file my taxes. is it the 1040 or w-2 ? i cant remember…please help. Thanx
Answer: 1-800-829-1040
You can request a transcript and payer information for free. Expect it to take several weeks. You’ll have to mail a paper return as e-file for 2008 closed 10/15.
Any blank forms you need are available at www.irs.gov.
