Question: Is there a website where I can get past w2′s for free?
I know there are websites that will send past w2s but for like over $20.
Are there any that offer this service for free?
I know I can get the w2s from the IRS but they only offer federal info on them , plus I would have to do a change of address form and it could take up to or over 30 days. Im kind of in a bind and need them asap. I need the w2s from 07 and 08. I cant get them from my previous employer, I have tried! And they dont offer them online. Any help would be apprieciated.
Answer: Yes IRS only has federal but you could call and request them from them and then contact the State for theirs. You are mistaken in the change of address taking 30 days.
To change you address with the IRS you can just call and do it over the phone. Call IRS at 1-800-829-0922 1-800-829-8374 or 1-800-829-1040 for the W2 or visit IRS Local Office for the W2 transcript. If you are at a location where their is a fax IRS will fax them to you, but you must stay on the line with IRS until you acknowledge receipt.Ask you employer or HR office for the copies.
