Question: Non-profit organization, lost tax exemption form, how to obtain replacement?
I recently became an officer in a very disorganized non-profit organization. We are tax exempt but there are no forms in the pile of paperwork that say that. In order to open a new account we need an IRS ruling letter of tax exemption. What exactly does this look like and how can I get another one? Thanks in advance
Answer: Call the IRS Tax Exempt Goverment Enities (TEGE) at 1-877-829-5500. They can provide you with the information and copies of the form.
