Question: Why is it so easy to get a seasonal job with the IRS?
As a “Tax Examiner”?
In my experience, if a job is too easy to get, there is something wrong with it.
Answer: Because they need alot more people to work during the tax season to handle the load and they will take whoever can use their brain and then they lay most of the new-hires off. I would say there was much wrong with the seasonal job I got with the IRS. I was hired to process tax returns and it was pretty miserable, it was data entry all day long starting at 7:30 in the morning, there was a group of us in rows doing this and after I worked there for 4 months during the tax season I was laid off. It was torturous for me with one Mexican woman on one side of me and another on the other side of me and they carried on in Spanish all day long. It was a very hard way to make money, it was my first “real” job. Thank God I was out of there after that season! I felt badly being let go but it really was a good thing. What would I have become like if I had stayed there? It appeared to me that many of the employees who worked there were obese.
