Question: I just filled out an IRS Change Of Address Form, does this change my status as a dependent?
I lived in CT with my parents for 8 months of the year. I just moved down to NC with my boyfriend and completed an IRS change of address form. Does this change my status as a dependent for tax purposes?
I tried looking on the official IRS website, but I couldn’t find anything…

Answer: no, the change of address is only for that purpose
when you file your W-4 with an employer you will complete it as needed, and when you file your 1040, you will indicate your status there
