Question: 2009 IRS Deposit problem?

Ok I know there are a lot of problems with direct deposit for 09 refunds. Here is mine: I went through H&R block filed on 2/1 got on their website to track e-file said it was accepted by IRS may take 8-15 days. I checked on site this morning and said that my refund was released for DD for my bank may take 1 to 2 business days. I emailed bank they dont’ have it yet. How long has it taken anyone else to recieve it. I am also suppose to be getting a seperate check for recovery rebate credit which I was told could not be DD had to be sent as a paper check??? Anybody have these problems

Answer: Unfortunately, this is a problem many tax payers are experiencing. I didn’t file using H&R, I used TaxAct and I have run across many people who have had the same issue regardless of which service they used. I have spoken with an IRS agent and so have others. We have all gotten a number of explanations which vary from computer glitches to a change in the IRS refund time table to unknown explanations. Some people have gotten their refunds, many have not. Personally, I filed on 1/16 and got my IRS DCN and acceptance on 1/18. Initially, TaxAct said I would get my refund on 1/30, the IRS Where’s My Refund? site gave me 2/3 as an expected DD date. When 2/3 came and went, I revisited the IRS WMF site and the date was changed to 2/24 to expect my refund. I also contacted my bank (Bank of America) and they said if IRS sends a DD it would post and be available immediately. I have read in several places that there are delays concerning the 2008 stimulus check we received, also that certain people claiming certain tax credits would experience a delay. This morning the message changed to saying my return was being processed and there was no date given to expect it. I will keep you posted though if it helps.

02/17/09 Update: Still haven’t gotten refund. WMF still says “We have received your return, it is being processed.” Still no date. Teletax gives me the same message. I also have not gotten any correspondence via by mailbox from IRS. No letter from IRS is counted as good news. If something is wrong, they typically send out letters pretty quickly.
