Question: what is the IRS telephone assessment ?

I was asked to attend a fingerprinting session for contact rep in andover, MA. This will cost me at least 600 dollars with no job offer. I am told that I must pass a telephone assessment, can some one tell me what I can expect on this test?
Tax lady.
You’re right, I live on the gulf coast. the cheapest flight was 359 and a rental car was 150 for 2 days, my hotel was 75 a day. Yes I will move or stay in a extended stay.

Answer: How is this going to cost you $600? The IRS will do the fingerprints for free, as is the background check. (I guess you don’t live anywhere near Andover? If you get the job will you move?)

As for the telephone assessment test, the simplified version is they give you “screen prints” of a fictitious account, a checklist of questions you must ask before divulging anything on the screens and then you pretend to take a few calls. You are graded on how well you speak and how you handle the callers, if you followed all disclosure rules and your ability to find data on the screens. At least one of the callers will be whiny or hostile or both. A caller will probably give you bad answers to the disclosure questions, etc. You need to be accurate and assertive.
