IRS I-9 Tax Form

Question: Where can I get old i-9 forms?

I would like do a research project for my class about tax dollars spent on federal tax forms. Does anyone know where i can get copies of old I-9 forms. These are the only old ones I cant find on the IRS web site. We would like to note changes made (however minute) and then get estimates on how much it would cost to make those changes. And how much it costs businesses to get the updated forms. Which increases overhead each year and decreases raises (that’s what we think is going to be the result of our research).

Answer: The I-9 form is not an IRS form and is not a tax form. It is managed by the US Citizenship and Immigration Service. Here’s a link to the current form on their website: http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-9.pdf

They do not appear to make older versions available, probably because there is no need to make them available to the general public. The current version, published on 5/31/2005 rebranded the form from the old INS to USCIS.

The title of this blog is preposterous, you say. The “Grand Old Party” and “Socialism” — the words are simply inaptly juxtaposed in the same sentence.

Why Choose Audit Or Tax

Why Choose Audit Or Tax

Question: Career: Audit vs. Tax?

Can someone in auditing tell me why they choose auditing as their career and not tax? Or someone in Tax tell me the other way around?

Answer: I’m currently a staff auditor for a public accounting firm. I chose audit because I believe that you learn more from audit than tax. With tax you are in the same office each and every day and you do relatively the same thing day after day.

I enjoy auditing because I have variety in my career. I am not in the office all that often, maybe 1 week per month. Sometimes more, sometimes less – depends on the client and the firm you work for. I enjoy traveling to different areas and I get that opportunity. I also like audit over tax because if you want to leave public accounting after a few years (with is pretty common in the profession) you have more career options than that from being a tax accountant.
