Question: If I file Head Of House Hold and I am still married will I be audited by the IRS?
My husband and I are still married but do not live together any more. He moved out early last year May 2009. We do not have a legal seperation or any divorce proceedings. In fact he come to the house to get his mail from the mail box but that is it. We have 3 children that I have full responsibility for. Can I claim all my kids and file HOH? I am just worried that I will be audited by the IRS. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
To those who answered so far, yes we lived apart for more than 6 months out of the year. May 2009 to current. If I were to be audited, what would I have to have to show that I did support my children. As I said my husband didn’t change his address nor did we change bank accounts or anything like that. I have my paystubs, and all bills are in my name that I pay from a joint checking account which also shows my direct deposit from my paycheck.
Answer: If you are telling the truth here, there is no problem with filing head of house hold, and he should file married filing separately to avoid the chance of being audited. The one of you, who will file married filing separately should provide the name of the other spouse, social security number on line 3 of 1040

Question: Why does Obama’s health care require 16,500 new Internal Revenue Service agents?
A new analysis by the Joint Economic Committee and the House Ways & Means Committee staff estimates up to 16,500 new IRS personnel will be needed to collect, examine and audit new tax information mandated on families and small businesses in the ‘reconciliation’ bill being taken up by the U.S. House of Representatives this weekend. …
Scores of new federal mandates and fifteen different tax increases totaling $400 billion are imposed under the Democratic House bill. In addition to more complicated tax returns, families and small businesses will be forced to reveal further tax information to the IRS, provide proof of ‘government approved’ health care and submit detailed sales information to comply with new excise taxes.
Answer: The government wants to make sure it gets every single cent it believes it is entitled to. Universal health care is socialism, and a socialistic government exists to perpetuate itself and the power of those who control it. The health care bill also has a provision in it that allows the IRS to seize citizens’ bank accounts. Big Brother is almost here, and there will be no stopping this, not ever. Once the government runs out of everyone else’s money there will be no stopping the poverty and desperation of our people either, and there will be no America for us to dream of emigrating to, no land of opportunity, no beacon of freedom. Depressing.

Irs Mail Audits

Question: Help! I screwed up on my taxes and mailed it to IRS? How do I stop it before it reaches them?
I’m afraid it will cause an audit if I don’t. I mailed it from Northern Nevada to Fresno today.
Answer: Just send them an “amended” tax return. I did that last year and they fixed it right away and got the correct refund (it was less). It was no problem.

Audit Protection Service

Question: Ever Hear of Pre-Paid Legal Services?
About a month ago, I signed up with this company called Pre-Paid legal. They supposedly help you resolve almost any legal problem you may have. They’ve been in business for over 30 years, are top notch on the NYSE for the last 5 years and I have friends that have used the service. I’m looking to see if anyone else has used them for Legal services, Motor Vehicle issues, Trial Defense, IRS Audits or Credit Protection? I mean, I only pay $24 a month for the service and it does cover my whole family. I have them clearing up 2 incidents for me now. I bought something online for $826 and never received it and I’m also suing someone for $1500. So,I have them working on it for me, but I’d like to know if anyone has used them and what the final outcome was? And how long it took for resolution. I found the service on the web and my friend uses them. www.prepaidlegal.com/go/slpadula
Answer: I signed up with them about a year ago paying $24/month. Actually there pretty good. I do plan to become a Business Associate with them as well. I’ve only used them to help with my Will and a couple of minor legal issues. These are top notch lawyers that they have and definatly recommend them to anyone. I look at it this way, why not pay $24/month and have your family covered in case anything happens to you and not pay additional money than not to have it all, and pay thousands in retainer plus high hourly fees for a lawyer.
