Question: How many will fall?
about two weeks ago on the news have warn the public abou the latest scam about rebate check you will get from the IRS. They have made it clear that when you get an email suppose to be from the IRS (it will look real) not to give out any your personal information to get your refund. That IRS already have the information that is needed to send out your check to you. That will not need your bank information, personal pin to your account, etc. I would like to know how many people will still fall for this scam?
Answer: About 2 percent of the people fall for these. Amazing with all the warnings about these scams.

State IRS Refund

Question: I e-filed 1/25/08 and received my state tax refund this morning (direct deposit). Are they any IRS delays?
I called the IRS toll free number and my federal tax refund is due 2/12/08. Have you heard of any processing delays? Thank you for responding.
Jessica’s Man: Yes, thanks, this listing helped me and several people on this site!![]()
Answer: Nope… no delays… you JUST missed the cutoff for direct deposit. Here’s the IRS refund cycle briefly:
Return Accepted by IRS between: Jan 24 and Jan 31 2008
Direct Deposit sent: Feb 8, 2008
Check Mailed: Feb 15, 2008Return Accepted by IRS between: Jan 31 and Feb 7 2008
Direct Deposit sent: Feb 15, 2008
Check Mailed: Feb 22, 2008Return Accepted by IRS between: Feb 7 and Feb 14 2008
Direct Deposit sent: Feb 22, 2008
Check Mailed: Feb 29, 2008Return Accepted by IRS between: Feb 14 and Feb 21 2008
Direct Deposit sent: Feb 29, 2008
Check Mailed: Mar 7, 2008And then however long it takes for your bank to process the direct deposit after they send it is when you’ll see the money. So, 2/12 seems about right.
Hope this helped.

IRS 1040x Refund Status
Question: Can you find out status of refund on AMENDED tax return on IRS website?
I have put in the information correctly, our SSN, refund amount, etc. but it keeps coming up with “incorrect information.” It says the IRS accepted my amended 1040X form on Turbotax, which is how I did it. Because it was an amended return, I had to mail it and will receive the difference via a paper check.
Because it’s an amended return with a refund, is it NOT going to show up on the IRS website?
Answer: Amendment gererally take from 8 to 12 weeks before the refund is issued. At the 8 week mark you should call to confirm that they have received the amendment. They seem to have a way of getting lost.

IRS My Refund

Question: If you owe back pay child support, Will you still get your IRS refund back if you have other children?
Hello my fiance owes back pay child support to the IRS for the time that he was in prison, but he also also has 2 other children that do qualify for the child tax credit here in the state of Texas. So does that mean he will still get something back for the kids since they qualify for the credit or would the IRS still take the refund regardless if he has other kids or not?
We live in the state of Texas.
He owes quite a bit of back pay.
Answer: No, he won’t, but has he challenged the accrued arrears from that time? Judge David Grey Ross, Commissioner of the Federal Office of Child Support Enforcement ruled in 2001 that child support cannot accrue durinf interment. He may have grounds for a reduction for that time period only.
